I really love the emotion conveyed in this.  He seems like he's been going through a hard time, being bruised not only physically, but also emotionally, appearing like he's either been crying or is needing to cry.  Though, the butterfly that landed on his head brings this beauty and comfort.  The flowers and butterfly both create this peace and serenity he can escape to.
I love how you expressed this contrast bringing out this deep interpretive meaning I think a lot of people can relate to, including myself.
